Reconnecting with my 'other side' one random Tuesday after work, I slung my 3-legged war horse and jazzed down Boat Quay.

The June evening was sultry yet passionate, spewing thin fleeting clouds above my location shoot at Raffles Place.
I was alone, relaxed and feeling one with Heaven.

A bespectacled photographer, nodding reciprocally at my presence, offered me his sweet spot under Elgin bridge (which glows green at night) .
I swiftly set up my tripod, mounted my camera and composed shots with what remaining light. Then I waited. And waited. Till the sun faded into outer space.

My first night shot of Singapore River. Lights from bistros and pubs swimming by the riverbank. Its a pity, the buildings didn't stand out from the cloud as there were none - for contrast.

Three sleepless nights later, I headed to MBS. And found out it was the annual i-Light festival again.

i-Light (3-26 June this year) is a light festival held in Marina Bay, showcasing art installations by Singaporean and international artists.
These artworks are designed with energy-saving lights and eco-friendly materials - to inspire visitors to practice sustainability. Beautiful? Definitely. Effective? No.

I created long exposures to show movements and traffic - typical of street photography.
Basking in weekend mood, executives in their smartest of casuals snorted joy. Young mums pushing strollers shrieked at their free range princelings. Foreigners fanned the beautiful chaos with ear-piercing tagalog, bahasa and 中国话.

I drifted along as I conjured photographic movements of these same commuters during MRT rush hour.

Customs House? What's this place? I shot it while strolling to Merlin... I mean Merlion (tourists, esp. Indians call it Lion head or Lion fish or worse... Mer Head)!

Will return again for better angle and laser show timing. The sky was a bit hazy with clouds obscuring the lights.
Merlion Park was swarmed with sweaty tourists. There were Koreans, Indians, Indonesians. I vividly recalled this fierce shee shaa shoo machine-gun Mandarin: 头专一点,笑,多一点,再过来,脸放松,身直,不好看别怨我。

Jialat. Took 2 x 90 seconds for Hello Panda to pose with military precision. I knew because my camera fired at 90 seconds exposure.

Stupidity slapped me hard, alas. I pirouetted, angsty like Trevor Bingley, realising I was 2 hours behind schedule at 23:20.
I sprinted to Fullerton bus-stop, biting nails and tapping feet on 57 as the bus approached Rochor station. The train was packed with young folks, who smelled anxious like me.
At 00:17, I reached Bukit Panjang.
I felt one with Heaven again 😇

That's all for night shots, Bubu 🐻
Looking forward to our sunset selfies in beautiful Sabah!
