Day 4
We escaped city KK on day 4 and Grabed (Rm 10) to Shangri-la Tanjung Aru resort, where we would be enjoying splashing island fun.
Bubu booked two seaview rooms facing a mesmerising sunset.

The rooms included a Jom Staycation package with a host of offers such a 30% off spas, F&Bs, bars and free boat rides to Islands via a private jetty and a bunch of water sports.
Jom is an attractive package reserved only for Malaysians; we booked it under the name Lee Bubu.

Once we checked in our luggages, we ran to the jetty in loud flipflops. The sky was clear and blue. The sea was singing You Jom I Jom!

We chose pulau Sapi - out of the neighbouring islands Gaya, Manukan, Mamutik and Sulug - as Sapi is furthest and least crowded.

The sand golden with morning sun was gentle on our feet. In the bitter salty water we frolicked snorkelling.
Hours passed, taking too long to reach high tide. Because of that, we could not venture further to see the corals as our boat must return by noon. What a pity! Next time come after 12pm!
Back at Tanjung Aru, we had a swim, washed up at the gym lounge and relaxed in our rooms.

As evening crept in, Xinru arrived for the highlight of the day - a drink at Tanjung Aru's famous Sunset Bar, which requires pre-booking due to its popularity.
We ordered coconuts, mojito mocktail and meat skewers.

We also saw many ladies dressed up beautifully and taking endless failed selfies.
We watched the sun fade into a crimson purple streak, giving the world and Sabah another night to sleep.

Day 4 was extremely relaxing but tiring due to the sun. Bubu and Xinru drove out to enjoy their favourite guotie. I urged Eugene to try Sabah's KFC which tastes wayyyyyyyyy better than Singapore's.
I like Eu's game on attitude. We ordered 2-piece duck. Eu had both crispy. I had original and crispy. It was KKKJ (KoKoKuay Juicy).

Like what Bubu said, their original recipe has rich herbal taste, like the good old days, if you remember at all, unlike the extreme salty taste in Singapore. I wonder where those extra salt comes from.
*Disclaimer: Coleslaw may not be available due to logistic issue (go google).

Plssssss try Sabah's KFC the next time you come, ok?

Thanks for reading, till then! 🐻
